Taxonomy
The holotype of Botys tapsusalis Walker, 1859: 697 from Kalimantan Selatan (Pulo Laut) [a Wallace specimen] is in the NHM. This sp. was previously treated in Polygrammodes Guenée 1854 [a New World genus] by Swinhoe (1892) and Meyrick (1884: 320) before being placed in Noctuelia (LepIndex).

Description
Wing length : 12.5mm. A robust very pale yellow sp. with brownish-yellow markings on the wing bases. The FW has a diffuse bifurcating post median fascia. The veins of the FW are yellowish towards the termen. A narrow dark basal line extends across the FW. The HW has a dark blotch sub-apically.
Noctuelia spp. 3 & 4 have patterning similar to N. tapsusalis but their markings differ in intensity and details. -
