Taxonomy
The holotype of Ceratarcha umbrosa Swinhoe 1894:200 is from India [Meghalaya] Shillong & Cherapunjee. It is the TS of Ceratarcha a monospecific genus.

Description
Wing Length: 15mm - 16mm. The FW termen is strongly falcate near the apex in both sexes. This buff/brown coloured moth is speckled with darker markings the FW sub-termenal area is a darker shade than the yellowish median band. It has a small dark reniform stigma. The males have elongated bodies in comparison to the female.See Wang & Speidel, (2000: 232) for a photo of the female & Inoue (1982, Pl. 39, figs 63, 64) for one of the male.

India (Meghalaya), Nepal, Sabah, China (S), Taiwan, Japan. Lowland and submontane; <1200m.
