Taxonomy
The holotype of Scopula suffusalis Walker, [1866] 1865: 1471 from Sri Lanka is in the NHM. First illustrated by Hampson (1893, pl. 173, fig. 18).

Description
Wing length : 8mm. The wings have a purple sheen and red-brown submedian and post median lineation with a brown suffusion in the orbicular area. Note the white tibia of the foreleg. See H. cinerea Warren, 1892 which is very similar but which lacks the extensive orbicular suffusion. Wingspan range 16.5-25mm.

Distribution & Habitat
Sri Lanka, India (Nicobar Is.), W. Malaysia, Kalimantan Selatan, Sabah, Sarawak, PNG, Indonesia (Irian Jaya). Lowland.
