Taxonomy

Sabah, Labuan. The male lectotype of Striglina divisata Warren, 1904:484 from the Natuna Is, (Bunguran) is in the NHM (Mi7296), genitalia slide #10879. It was designated by Whalley (1976:75, 76, fig’d).

Description

29-33mm. A small to medium sized brown species with an indistinct darker reticulate pattern. The FW has a darker costal area, a large dark orbicular spot and there is a dark linear diagonal fascia crossing both wings. There may be a slight sexual dimorphism in this species. The pattern will usually distinguish this species (Whalley, 1976).

Distribution & Habitat

Nepal, Thailand, S. Vietnam, W. Malaysia, Singapore, Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei, Labuan, Kalimantan Barat, Natuna Is, Sulawesi. Lowland to lower montane forest including swamp forest; <1400m.

Life History & Pest Status

A leaf roller feeding on Nephelium lappaceum (Sapindaceae), rambutan, Irvingia malayana (Irvingiaceae), Terminalia alata (Combretaceae) Ziziphus mauritiana and Z. ziziphus (Rhamnaceae) Indian jujube.
