Bacotoma sp. 1. An unnamed morphotype in the NHM, Schulze & SLS Colls, nr. B. ptochura Meyrick 1894.
Generic placement provisional. -
Description
Wing Length: 8mm. The FW has the brown area of the FW subcosta sharply defined by the R-R1 vein and brown wing borders on a golden yellow base. It is similar to B. ptochura Meyrick, but it is slightly smaller and has a small spot basally on the of the HW subcosta. The male has a tight brush of coarse golden hair scales at its abdomen tip. In comparison with B. ptochura the dark border to its wings is slightly narrower and it also has several additional small dark spots near the FW cell. The post median lines are often incomplete but that of the HW is distinctly looped. Schulze (2000) Taxon #330.
