  • Taxonomy


    The male holotype of Nymphicula silauensis Mey 2009: 106, fig. 31, is from Sabah, Mt. Kinabalu N.P. H.Q., Silau-Silau River. It is in the MfNH Berlin. It is a member of the N. atriterminalis group, usually found in the Philippines and Sulawesi.

  • Description


    Wing length: 6.5mm. A sp. with an orange brown and white pattern similar to many spp. of Nymphicula. The HW has four or five large, but ill-defined, black eyespots. This sp. differs from all congeners by the large, white medial area in the HW. It shows some similarity in the HW with N. atriterminalis (Hampson, 1917f: 458), TL Sulawesi (Mey 2009).
