  • Taxonomy


    The paratype of Transeromene shafferi ‘Schouten in prep 1992’.*, is in the NHM. TL Sabah, Gunung Monkobo.

    Temporary placement in Transeromene
    *In the NHM are several crambine spp. [Eromene, Euchromius, Transeromene] labeled as holotypes [probably by Shaffer] but we cannot find any publication ref. associated with them nor can we locate the paper (‘Schouten in prep.’ referred to in Schouten 1992: 197) Until this is clarified we are treating those names as ‘Schouten in prep 1992’. MS names.

  • Description


    Wing length: 4mm. A small species with most of the FW grey and black speckled but devoid of markings. There is a fulvous patch at the apex and basal and antemedian fulvous and black bands. There are a few indistinct black spots near the tornus. The HW is a pale grey brown suffused with black towards the margin.
