Taxonomy

Holotype: Kalimantan Selatan, Pulo Laut. The holotype of Brixia citrina Hampson, 1897:625 from Kalimantan Selatan (Pulo Laut) is in the NHM (Mi7392).

Description

24-32mm. The pale lemon yellow color of this species is very variable and liable to fade soon after capture to a pale fawn. R. sulphurea Warren, 1898 is similar but is a much brighter yellow with purplish red sub-basal fascia and a purple brown spotting on the FW. The pink tinged veins R5, M1& M2 near the FW apex are present and usually obvious in both spp. but are underlain by a purple/brown suffusion in R.sulphurea. On the Un these veins are much more brightly colored and the FW cell has a group of blue-green scales in its basal half.

Distribution & Habitat

Thailand, W. Malaysia, Sabah, Brunei, Sarawak, Kalimantan Selatan, Philippines. Lowland and lower montane; <1500m.
