The holotype of Pyralis acaciusalis Walker, 1859e:901 is from NW India (Hindostan) (not ‘East Indies’ as on Walker’s type label).

Syn. Siculodes rosacea Pagenstecher, 1892:119 is from W. Malaysia (Malacca). Syn. n. Dalla Torre, (1914:18).

Description
35mm. This species is superbly and distinctively patterned in pastel shades of pink and purplish brown with little indication of the typical thyridid reticulation pattern. On the Un the FW is predominantly greyish cream with brown suffusion and with veins R5 to CuA2 covered by bright pink or red scales.
Distribution & Habitat
Hindustan, Karnataka, W. Sumatra, W. Malaysia, Sabah, Brunei, Sarawak. Lowland and lower montane forest; <1500m.
