  The male holotype of Gonocausta invertalis Snellen 1876 [1877b]: 78, pl. 6 fig. 4 from the Philippines? is lost. The sp. was re-described by Munroe 1967: 1047, using Philippine material.
  
  It is the TS of Chrysothyridia Munroe, 1967.

  Description

  
  

  Wing length: 13mm. Often smaller and differs slightly in fasciation from C. triangulifera Munroe, 1967. It has two large fenestrae on FW and a scatter of smaller ones on the HW. It is distinguishable by the pale preapical patch being nearly rectangular not roughly triangular (Munroe, 1967) but said to be best distinguished by genitalia (RTS, 1994: 184-185). Occasionally there is a violet sheen near the wing margins. The underside is cream shading to brown to the margins. Male antennae have a group of curled scales close to the base. Females have larger fenestrae on HW and a pale upperside to abdomen. Females have larger fenestrae on HW and a pale upperside to abdomen.   Burma, W. Malaysia, Sumatra, Kalimantan Timur, PNG (Trobriand Is), Bismarck Arch. (Admiralty Is.), Irian Jaya (Fergusson Is.); Lowland primary forest; <600m.
  
  Range overlaps with C. triangulifera Munroe q.v. Confirmed distribution; Sabah, PNG, Australia (Q).
