  • Taxonomy


    The male lectotype of Oligostigma falcatalis Snellen, [1901] 1900: 287 from Java (Buitenzorg) is in Leiden. Lectotype selected by Munroe et al. (1958: 74). Once considered a junior subjective syn. of E. ceratucha (Meyrick, 1894a) but Jaenicke & Mey (2011) re-established it as a good sp. in Eoophyla.

    Wing length: 10mm. Typical Eoophyla patterning in brown white and yellow. Jaenicke & Mey (2011) give a full description of male and female including illustrations of genitalia. pp 40-42, Pl. 17 figs. 1-8, Pl. 24 figs.1,2 & Pl. 23 figs 7 & 8.). See other spp. in the E. ceratucha group.
