  • Taxonomy


    The holotype of Botys caldusalis Walker, 1859: 650 is from 'Hindustan'

    Syn. Sylepta kosemponis Strand, 1918: 53 TL Taiwan (Kosempo). Syn. n. Shibuya (1927: 32).

    Treated as Endocrossis by Wang & Speidel (2000: 238) but unfortunately Endocrossis Meyrick, 1889: 515 (TS Botyodes flavibasalis Moore, 1867: 96, TL Bismark Arch. (New Pomerania), is a junior subjective syn of Botyodes Guenée 1854. Although it is is not well placed in Botyodes here it is temporarily retained in the Botyodes-Endocrossis group pending further investigation.

    Wing Length: male 13.5mm and female 18mm. A distinctive orange sp. with speckled brown markings.

    Pakistan, India (NE), Nepal, Burma, W. Malaysia, Sabah, Indonesia (Java), Philippines, Taiwan. Lowland.
