  • Taxonomy


    The lectotype of Ancylolomia argentata Moore, 1886: 382, pl. 184, TL Sri Lanka, is in the NHM. Lectotype designated by Bleszynski (1970c).

  • Description


    Wing length : 9mm - 17mm. Based on genitalic characteristics Bleszynski (1970c) divided the genus Ancyclolomia Hübner, [1826] 1816: 363, into three groups:
    Only two species, A. locupletella & A. argentata, are known from the Oriental Region.

    A. argentata FW has reddish brown ground-colour, with indistinct silvery streaks. HW brown. Male antenna lamellate. Male genitalia have uncus and gnathos about as long as saccus plus vinculum; costa of valva without process. Female genitalia have a flat atrium bursae, rather well demarcated from ductus bursae (Bleszynski, 1970c (figs. 22 & 29).
