Taxonomy
The holotype of Autocharis amethystina Swinhoe, 1894: 149 is from India (Cherapunjee). It is listed in the LepIndex as a junior subjective syn. of Glyphodes fessalis Swinhoe, 1886: 459, pl. 41, fig. 13 TL China (Macau) but the shape of the inner margin of the purplish apical markings are very different; here we treat the two spp. as distinct. A. fessalis is probably not present in Borneo.

Description
Wing length : 16mm. A large, creamy white sp. Wings with purplish subtermenal areas and FW with a narrow pale purplish brown, costal area. A small punctum is present in the FW cell. The long and porrect palpi and forelegs are a pale purplish brown.

Distribution & Habitat
India (Karnataka, Meghalaya), W. Malaysia, Sabah. Lowland & hill forest; <630m.
